FAQs
Q: What is the best way to care for your Radhawk?
A: Take care of your tools, and they'll take care of you! Caring for a RADHAWK is simple. Keep it as clean as you can, or as clean as your environment and circumstances will allow. It’s a tool made with abuse in mind. Wipe it off with a rag, and keep the sheath free of sand and crud. If a stream, pond, or water hose are handy, rinse the sheath and tool. Dry it off with a towel or set it in the sun to dry. Application of beeswax will keep corrosion at bay.
We prefer manual sharpening with DMT diamond files. They are long lasting, fast cutting, compact, lightweight, and USA made, too! DMT diamond files will sharpen the hardest cutlery, tool steels, and carbides. No messy oils needed. Sharpen your RADHAWK dry or with water.
RADHAWKs are ground with a double bevel. The cutting angle on a RADHAWK is 60° for the spike and cutting face. When instructing someone to sharpen a 30° angle on the primary bevel, hold the diamond file at a 30° angle for both sides. This means the angle is 60° in total. This 60° angle is similar to that of cold chisels.
Q: What guarantees do you have if my tool chips or breaks?
A: Radelow tools are made to last a lifetime. We guarantee materials and workmanship for the life of your tool. If you are dissatisfied for any reason, return the tool within 30 days of purchase for your money back. Call for repairs or replacement parts.
